Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
H. de Bruijn and W. von Koenigswald 1994Palatum narrow. Posterior edge of foramen incisivum situated well in front of the M1. Lower incisors with a triangular cross-section and two parallel ridges on the enamel.
Enamel structure of the lower incisors derived. Upper cheek teeth wider over the protocone/paracone than of the hypocone/metacone and with a 'mesoloph'that is developed as the anterior arm of the hypocone (as in Paracricetodon). Anterocone situated lingually of the paracone and with two cusps. Hypcone and metacone of the M3 well delimited in the type species, less so in djanpolati and beckerplateni. Anteroconid of the m1 small. m1, m2 and m3 of about equal length. Enamel of unworn teeth finely rugose.
