Taxonomy
Neoceratodus was named by Castelnau (1876). It is extant. Its type is Ceratodus forsteri. It is the type genus of Neoceratodontidae.
It was assigned to Dipnoi by Werner (1993); and to Neoceratodontidae by Miles (1977), Martin (1982), Kemp (1997), Schultze (2004), Apesteguia et al. (2007), Louys and Price (2015).
