Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria spironema was named by Meek and Worthen (1866). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Gosseletina spironema by Hoare (1961), Yochelson and Saunders (1967), Kues (1984), Kues and Batten (2001); it was recombined as Nemaspira spironema by Mazaev (2021); it was recombined as Globodoma spironema by Mazaev (2006), Mazaev (2019), Wagner (2023).
