Palaeeudyptes antarcticus

Osteichthyes - Spheniscidae

Taxonomy
Palaeeudyptes antarcticus was named by Huxley (1859). Its type specimen is BMNH A 1048, a limb element (tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kakanui, which is in a Whaingaroan coastal limestone in the Ototara Limestone Formation of New Zealand.
