Taxonomy
Venericardia subintermedia was named by Suter (1917) [DISTRIBUTON: Early-Middle Miocene; New Zealand. ]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Venericardia (Venericardia) subintermedia by Fleming (1966); it was recombined as Glyptoactis (Fasciculicardia) subintermedia by Beu et al. (1990).
