Taxonomy
Geotrypus ehrensteinensis was named by Ziegler (1990). It is not extant. Its type specimen is SMNS BSP 1971 XXV 281, a mandible (Mandible dex with p1-m3). Its type locality is Ehrenstein 4, which is in a MP 30 fissure fill horizon in Germany.
