Eobaatar minor

Osteichthyes - Multituberculata - Eobaataridae

Taxonomy
Eobaatar minor was named by Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (1987). Its type specimen is Institute of Palaeontology, Academy of Sciences, Moscow PIN 3101/70, a mandible (Fragment mandible dext. with alveolus for incisor, p2, the roots and crown fragment of p3 and the anterior part of p4.), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Khovboor (PIN coll. 3101) [SMPE], which is in an Aptian/Albian lacustrine sandstone/claystone in the Dzunbain Formation of Mongolia.

Z. Kielan-Jaworowska et al. 1987Estimated length of the skull is about 2 cm. Short diastema between I and p2. p4 small, dinstinctly smaller and apparently shorter anteroposteriorly than in E. magnus. The ventral margin of the exodaenoodont lobe rounded. The ridges on p4 weaker and more closely arranged than in E. magnus.
