Rhinolophus hanaki was named by Woloszyn (1987). It is not extant. Its type specimen is ZZSiD MF/1692/1, a mandible (Mandible sin.).

B.W. Woloszyn 1987A small representative of Rhinolophus, close to R. hipposideros and R. variabilis Topal. It differs from both in its larger size, especially in its elongated p4, its broad, massive skull and much smaller talons on M1 and M2, also in its relatively short palate.
