Taxonomy
Coelocaulus rodneyi was named by Rohr (1980). It is not extant. Its type locality is USNM 18119. Greg Ranch., which is in a Devonian carbonate limestone/limestone in the Kangaroo Creek Formation of California.
It was recombined as Ptychocaulus rodneyi by Wagner (2023).
