Taxonomy
Solen (Prothyris) soleniformis was named by Elias (1957). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Village of Milo, which is in a Serpukhovian offshore sandstone in the Redoak Hollow Formation of Oklahoma.
It was recombined as Prothyris soleniformis by Hoare et al. (1989).
