Taxonomy

Garjainia prima was named by Ochev (1958). It is the type species of Garjainia.

Synonyms

Garjainia triplicostata was named by Huene (1960). It is not extant. Its type specimen is PIN 951/ 59, a partial skull.

It was synonymized subjectively with Garjainia prima by Gower and Sennikov (2000).
Vjushkovia triplicostata was named by Huene (1960). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rassypnaya locality, PIN 951, which is in an Olenekian terrestrial sandstone/sandstone in the Petropavlovka Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Vjushkovia.

It was synonymized subjectively with Garjainia prima by Ezcurra (2016).
