Carydium clarkei
Taxonomy
Carydium clarkei was named by Bailey (1986) [Carydium gregarium Beushausen sensu Clarke 1909: 141, pl. 33 f. 11-14, no pl. 5 f. 6-12)]. Its type specimen is NYSM I 8761 (9099E/4, serial no. 7402230), a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Pine Hill section, near Highland Mills, which is in a Pragian carbonate sandstone in the Oriskany Formation of New York.
