Palaeoxantusia fera
Taxonomy
Palaeoxantusia fera was named by Hecht (1956). Its type specimen is A.M.N.H. No. 3815, a mandible (left dentary), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Hyopsodus Hill, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.
