Asarotus arcanus
Taxonomy
Asarotus arcanus was named by Schaeffer (1968). Its type specimen is AMNH 5555, a partial skeleton, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is AMNH no. 5555 specimen, which is in a Santonian basinal (carbonate) chalk in the Niobrara Formation of Nebraska. It is the type species of Asarotus.
