Taxonomy
Crassatella turgidula was named by Conrad (1843) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Miocene; Maryland, Virginia.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Crassatellites turgidulus by Glenn (1904), Glenn (1904); it was recombined as Eucrassatella turgidulus by Kidwell (1982); it was recombined as Marvacrassatella turgidula by Ward (1992).
