It was assigned to Lamnidae by Glikman (1957); to Cretoxyrhinidae by Herman (1977), Siverson (1997), Cappetta and Case (1999); to Lamniformes by Sepkoski (2002); and to Paraisuridae by Herman (1979), Siversson and Machalski (2017).
