Taxonomy
Scaptochirus primaevus was named by Schlosser (1924) [Lectotype was designated by Miller (1927) from a plate in Schlosser (1924)]. It is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Yanshuella.
It was recombined as Yanshuella primaeva by Storch and Qiu (1983).
