Taxonomy
Enaeta was named by Adams and Adams (1853) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol-l R Sepkoski's reference number: 852; synonym of Mitreola [Darragh 1989]]. It is extant. Its type is Voluta barnesii.

It was reranked as Lyria (Enaeta) by Cate (1972), Petuch (1988) and Vokes (1998); it was synonymized subjectively with Mitreola by Darragh (1989).

It was assigned to Lyrinae by Woodring (1964); to Lyria by Cate (1972), Petuch (1988) and Vokes (1998); to Volutidae by Todd (2001); and to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
