Nautilus javanus was named by Martin (1879) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenozoic; Indonesia.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Junghuhn’s Locality O [Cilanang Fm], which is in a Miocene marine horizon in the Cilanang Formation of Indonesia.
