Taxonomy
Reticuloceras was named by Bisat (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: C Bash-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Goniatites reticulatus. It is the type genus of Reticuloceratidae, Reticuloceratinae.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Reticuloceratidae by Korn (2006); and to Reticuloceratinae by Furnish et al. (2009).
