Taxonomy
Colombiceras was named by Spath (1923) [Sepkoski's age data: K Apti-l K Apti-u]. Its type is Ammonites crassicostatus.

It was assigned to Parahoplitidae by Renz (1982); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Acanthoplitinae by Stoyanow (1949), Robert and Bulot (2005), Barragán and Maurrasse (2008) and Futakami (2018).
