Taxonomy
Hamiticeras was named by Anderson (1938) [Sepkoski's age data: K Barr-u K Apti-u]. Its type is Hamiticeras pilsbryi.

It was assigned to Ancyloceratidae by Kakabadze and Hoedemaeker (1997); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Acrioceratidae by Frau and Bulot (2023).
