Taxonomy
Pavlovia was named by Ilovaisky (1913) [Sepkoski's age data: J Tith-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. Its type is Perisphinctes pavlovi.

It was assigned to Dorsoplanitinae by Mesezhnikov (1984); to Simbirskitinae by Wright et al. (1996); and to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
