Placerias hesternus
Taxonomy
Placerias hesternus was named by Lucas (1904). Its type specimen is USNM 2198, a limb element (Humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 3 miles north of Tanners Crossing, which is in a Norian terrestrial horizon in the Chinle Formation of Arizona. It is the type species of Placerias.
