Taxonomy
Galfettites lucasi was named by Jenks et al. (2010). Its type specimen is NMMNH P-60170 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Crittenden Springs, Meekoceras gracilitatis zone sample 3, which is in a Smithian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Thaynes Formation of Nevada.
