Devincenzia gallinali was named by Kraglievich (1932). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Santa Lucía Basin, which is in a Deseadan fluvial sandstone in the Fray Bentos Formation of Uruguay.
It was synonymized subjectively with Devincenzia pozzi by Alvarenga and Holfing (2003).
