Actinopteri - Menidae

Taxonomy
Mene purdyi was named by Friedman and Johnson (2005). Its type specimen is USNM 494403, a partial skeleton (incomplete skull and first two vertebrae preserved in three dimensions), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is South of Negritos, which is in a Thanetian offshore shelf siliciclastic in Peru.
