Taxonomy
Edriosteges circularis was named by Liao (1984). Its type specimen is NIGP 71134 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Niutoushan coal mine 7 shaft, Act299, Guangde County, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine siliciclastic in the Longtan Formation of China.
