Taxonomy
Sochkineophyllum shasimotoi was named by Minato (1955). Its type specimen is 15879 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nokkosi-saka, west of Takada-machi, Kese-gun, Iwate Prefecture, which is in a Capitanian marine horizon in Japan.
