Taxonomy
Hemiptychina lata was named by Licharew (1939). Its type specimen is TsNIGR 33/340 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Fredericksolasma lata by Smirnova (2001), Smirnova (2007) and Angiolini et al. (2016).
