Sardospongia triradiata was named by Mostler (1985). It is not extant. Its type locality is Gutturu Pala, Fluminimaggiore, which is in a Cambrian carbonate limestone in the Cabitza Limestone Formation of Italy. It is the type species of Sardospongia.
