Taxonomy
Permobrachus magnus was named by Evans (1943). Its type specimen is AM F40029, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Warner's Bay, Belmont (AMF coll), which is in a Changhsingian pond chert in the Croudace Bay Formation of Australia.
