Globusia was named by Osmolska (1973) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour Sepkoski's reference number: 1045]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Proetinae by Osmólska (1973); to Cystispininae by Hahn et al. (1999); to Proetidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Proetida by Sepkoski (2002).
