Dictyoneura higginsii
Taxonomy
Palaeodictyopteron higginsi was named by Handlirsch (1906). It is an impression. Its type locality is Ravenhead Railway cutting near St. Helens, which is in a Westphalian A interdistributary bay mudstone in the Lancashire middle Coal Measure Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Sherborniella.
It was recombined as Sherborniella higginsii by Handlirsch (1919); it was recombined as Dictyoneura higginsii by Bolton (1921); it was considered a nomen dubium by Bolton (1916); it was recombined as Sherborniella higginsi by Handlirsch (1922).
