Taxonomy
Murchisonia coronata turboides was named by Winterfeld (1894) [Murchisonia coronata var. turboides = Murchisonia spinosa Phillips 1841 p. 102 pl. 39 f. 192b, not c; = Murchisonia coronata Koken 1889 pl. 12 f. 8 = Murchisonia turbinata Whidborne 1891 p. 306 pl. 29 f. 14, 16-16a, not 4-10, 13, 15]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Murchisonia (Murchisonia) coronata turboides by Kaufhold (1994); it was recombined as Murchisonia spinosa turboides by Heidelberger (2001); it was recombined as Wuxuanella spinosa turboides by Cook and Pan (2004).
