Taxonomy
Pecten anguillensis was named by Guppy (1867). Its type specimen is USNM 115532, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pecten (Chlamys) anguillensis by Dall (1898); it was recombined as Chlamys (Chlamys) anguillensis by Mansfield (1937); it was recombined as Chlamys anguillensis by Woodring (1982); it was recombined as Antillipecten anguillensis by Waller (2011).
