Taxonomy
Aucklandirhynchia opuatiaensis was named by MacFarlan (1992). Its type specimen is AU B251, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AU 4436, Opuatia Cliff (R13/f6613), which is in a Bathonian marine horizon in New Zealand.
