Taxonomy
Perfotricolpites digitatus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-38-434 (Catatumbo). Loc: 37.7X110.9 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain tricolpate, subspheroidal; furrow C α 1, C β 2, C γ 1; sculpture type psilate. Furrows rather wide. Extexine thicker than endexine. Columellae digitate and exine with perforate tectum. Thickness of exine about 4μ, diameter of the 'lumina' < 1μ. Polar area 10μ. Length of columellae about 3μ.
