Rhodanodolichotis vucetichae was named by Walton (1990) [Holotype: IGM-DU 86-370a, right mandible with p4-m3 Etymology vucetichae: in honor to M. Guiomar Vucetich, paleontologist and educator.]. Its type specimen is IGM-DU 86-370a, a mandible (right mandible with p4-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil.

A. H. Walton 1990Large species of Rhodanodolichotis. Sulci on both anterior and posterior prisms in lower molars. Sulcus on anterior prism shallow. Transverse length of anterior prism greater than posterior prism. Posterior prism of p4 projects lingually. Middle prism on p4 extends almost to labial extreme of posterior prism. Anterior prism length half transverse length of posterior prism. Dentine tracks narrow. Lateral crest high on jaw, prominent, terminates anteriorly at level of anterior m2.
