Diphuicrinus was named by Moore and Plummer (1937) [Sepkoski's age data: C Bash-u C Step-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Diphuicrinus croneisi.

It was assigned to Diphuicrinidae by Moore and Strimple (1973); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
