Taxonomy
Eobeloceras palentinum was named by Yatskov (1990). Its type specimen is DPO 16.281, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Taouzites palentinus by Korn and Klug (2002) and Bockwinkel et al. (2013).
