Proticia venezuelensis
Taxonomy
Proticia venezuelensis was named by Patterson (1977). Its type specimen is Museo de Historia Natural, Caracas no. 237, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Head of Quebrada Agua Viva, which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Trujillo Formation of Venezuela. It is the type species of Proticia.
