Drepanosaurus was named by Pinna (1980). It is not extant. Its type is Drepanosaurus unguicaudatus.
It was assigned to Drepanosauridae by Carroll (1988) and Senter (2004); and to Megalancosaurinae by Renesto et al. (2010).
