E. Perrier 1928 | Pleurodontes. Dents creuses à la base, les latérales bi- ou tricuspides. Corps sans ostéodermes, mais fosse supratemporale recouverte par des plaques osseuses dermiques. Arcades post-orbitaire et temporale complètes; septum interorbitaire et columelle bien développés. Langue allongée, bifide en avant et en arrière, couverte de papilles écailleuses ou de plis obliques imbriqués convergeant en avant. Écailles ventrales carrées, disposées en rangées transversales et longitudinales, les dorsales bien plus petites, juxtaposées ou imbriquées. Pattes bien développées, pentadactyles. Paupières bien développées; oreilles visibles. |
