Platyceras tenella

Taxonomy
Patella tenella was named by Dana (1847). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Harper's Hill, Hunter Valley (USNM coll), which is in a Sakmarian marine limestone in the Allandale Formation of Australia.

It was recombined as Pileopsis tenella by Dana (1849); it was recombined as Capulus tenellus by Wanner (1922); it was recombined as Platyceras tenella by Fletcher (1958).
