Taxonomy
Xenothrix was named by Williams and Koopman (1952). It is not extant. It is the type genus of Xenothricidae.
It was assigned to Xenotrichidae by Hershkovitz (1974); to Atelidae by McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Aotini by Cooke et al. (2011).
