Taxonomy
Propelodytes wagneri was named by Weitzel (1938). It is not extant. Its type specimen is HLMD Darmstadt (Me 1286), a skeleton (articulated specimen).

It was recombined as Eopelobates wagneri by Wuttke (1988), Sanchiz (1998).
