Anacontium carpenteri

Taxonomy
Anacontium carpenteri was named by Raymond (1944). Its type specimen is MCZ 4724, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Midco Locality 15, which is in an Artinskian lacustrine lime mudstone in the Wellington Formation of Oklahoma. It is the type species of Anacontium.

Synonyms
  • Anacontium brevis was named by Raymond (1944). Its type specimen is MCZ 4726, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Midco Locality 15, which is in an Artinskian lacustrine lime mudstone in the Wellington Formation of Oklahoma.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Anacontium carpenteri by Lamsdell (2020).
