Applanopsis segmentatus was named by Balme (1961). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Tsugaepollenites segmentatus by Dettman (1963) and Singh and Kumar (1969); it was recombined as Callialasporites segmentatus by Sukh-Dev (1961), Srivastava (1963), Lakhanpal et al. (1976) and Burger (1988).
