Taxonomy
Retisphaeridium vindhyanensis was named by Maithy (1969). It is not extant. Its type locality is Rampura (Kaimur Group), which is in a Mesoproterozoic marine shale in India.
It was recombined as Vavosphaeridium vindhyanensis by Maithy and Shukla (1977).
